In-home doctor visits are no longer a thing of the past
Benefit spotlight: Horizon members now have access to same-day, in-home, in-network care
Maybe you’re at home with a child who seems to have an earache, but you can’t take your kids to the pediatrician’s office. Or perhaps you need lab work to refill a prescription, but you can’t get a prompt appointment with your doctor.
With DocGo On-Demand Mobile Health, a new in-network option for Horizon members, the answer is a virtual—and home—visit away.
One Call Does It All
Here’s how it works: Visit docgo.com/ondemand or call (844) 44-DOCGO (844-443-6246). DocGo will schedule a virtual visit or house call within two hours’ time, on average. (You can also search for DocGo under telemedicine providers on the Horizon physician finder page.) If your DocGo virtual practitioner determines you need a home visit, he or she will send a health care provider to your home who can administer tests and treat you in person.
DocGo provides a full range of routine and urgent care, from vaccinations and comprehensive physicals to wound care and instant access to 30 of the most common prescription medications. If your care team determines you need a higher level of care, they will refer you to the in-network hospital that can best meet your needs. In most cases, you will pay no more in out-of-pocket costs for DocGo than you would for a visit to a specialist.
“Our members lead busy lives and health issues can arise at a moment’s notice. We’re always looking for new ways to help our members get high-quality, affordable and convenient care,” says Jim Dell’Arena, Senior Director, Enterprise Network Contracting & Operations at Horizon. “We also know that many of our members prefer virtual care. DocGo takes that one step further and enables same day, in-home, in-network care if a telehealth visit isn’t enough.”
“We are excited to provide our virtual and home services to Horizon members so they can get the quality care they expect with the ease they seek,” says Anthony Capone, president of DocGo. “Members don’t have to worry about disrupting their schedules or putting off care, because care comes to them.”
