Horizon responds to Senate President Sweeney’s call for a meeting with Legislative Leadership and Bob Marino

Horizon issued the following statement on 7/2/17 in response to Senate President Sweeney‘s call for a meeting with Legislative Leadership and Bob Marino to break State Budget impasse:

“The last time Horizon leadership had a meeting in the State House it was an extortion attempt aimed at $300 million of the reserves that protect our policyholders. Only now, after a state shutdown and the embarrassing backlash associated with S-4, are the Governor and Senate asking for the input of a business responsible for half of the state’s health care economy. The Horizon attack has nothing to do with the budget. Horizon has clearly and openly offered a very detailed and public critique of S-4, which the Senate President himself has acknowledged is “flawed” and should be “repealed.” Horizon’s CEO Bob Marino will absolutely attend the meeting and looks forward to hearing how our concerns and the concerns voiced by New Jersey’s business, labor, and reform communities can be addressed, particularly with all the uncertainty about health care coming from Washington.”
