Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey’s Human Resources Director honored as a 2016 "Working Mother of the Year" by Working Mother Magazine

Horizon BCBSNJ also chosen as also named one of the 2016 Working Mother 100 Best CompaniesCarolyn Powell, Human Resources Director for Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey (Horizon BCBSNJ), has been named a 2016 “Working Mother of the Year” by Working Mother magazine. Ms. Powell’s Working Mother recognition comes in the “Rising Star” category, which honors up-and-coming working moms who have made an impact on their organization after fewer than five years on the job. Ms. Powell joined Horizon BCBSNJ in August of 2012 and balances her work by enjoying time with her family and friends.The magazine also announced Horizon BCBSNJ’s selection as a 2016 Working Mother Top 100 company, which marks the seventh consecutive year the company has been selected for the honor. For example, Ms. Powell assisted Horizon BCBSNJ’s Service Leadership team in achieving a 20 percent increase in customer service productivity over the last three years. Ms. Powell has also assisted the company’s efforts to help employees achieve a better work/life balance by working from home and other remote locations.
