A better way to health for Medicare-eligible New Jerseyans from Braven Health

HZ-WIH-Sidebar-Braven[73]

Braven Health debuted in 2020 as New Jersey’s first and only Medicare Advantage company owned jointly by Horizon and two of the state’s most comprehensive health systems, Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH) and RWJ BarnabasHealth.

The benefits you need. The doctors you want to see. The extras you expect from Blue Cross® Blue Shield®. And all of it working together, seamlessly. The way it should.

Here are five ways Braven Health is delivering a health experience different from any other Medicare Advantage plan in New Jersey:

More flexibility. Plans can build in dental, vision and hearing benefits and give subscribers allowances to purchase hundreds of dollars in over-the-counter health-related products of their choice.

Papa Pals. For members needing a little help to run household errands, a ride to doctor appointments or a helping hand with technology, Braven Health dispatches “Papa Pals” to offer support and companionship.

Docs in the driver’s seat. Doctors are the DNA of Braven Health, which is why a 14-member Provider Council, comprising physicians, specialists and office directors, guide how Braven Health serves its 13,000 members.

Horizon network and expertise. Braven Health Medicare Advantage plans give members access to Horizon’s expanding Managed Care network that includes the entire HMH and RWJBH systems, and is made up of more than 51,000 providers and 82 network hospitals in New Jersey alone.

Inaugural year, record enrollment. In its first year, Braven Health enrolled more than 13,000 people in its eight-county coverage area, which includes Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean, Passaic and Union. In that eight-county area, a record-breaking seven out of 10 Medicare beneficiaries who selected a Medicare Advantage plan selected Braven Health.
